CRISTIANO RONALDO is not for sale at ANY price.
That is the blunt message from Manchester United’s owners the Glazer family to Real Madrid. Real believe they can take advantage of the Glazers’ £600million debt in owning United by offering a record-busting £70m for Ronaldo. But a senior source close to the American family told SunSport: “There is no way Ronaldo is for sale at all, even if he puts in a transfer request.”
The Glazers insist they will back United boss Alex Ferguson all the way in his bid to keep Portuguese winger Ronaldo, 23. The source said: “Anyone thinking the debt comes into this is totally ignorant of the facts. “The debt is covered comfortably by the interest payments.
“In the three years the family have owned the club, they have shown a clear track record of investment which will continue. “The Glazers have never meddled in anything the manager has done and never will interfere.
“All decisions on buying and selling are down to him and if he wants new players the money is there. “There is no truth in any insinuation we would be willing to talk to Real Madrid about selling Cristiano. That is nonsense.”
United are adamant Ronaldo must return to pre-season training at Carrington three weeks after Portugal’s Euro 2008 campaign ends. The Glazer source added: “The next move is for the manager to talk to Cristiano when he returns for training.”
There was strong opposition when US sports tycoon Malcolm Glazer took control of United. But they have spent upwards of £200million on players and new deals for existing stars.
United believe Ronaldo’s posturing is partly to get a new Old Trafford contract. Ronaldo has publicly said he wants to go to Real. But at Euro 2008 yesterday he said: “Before the last game I told you I don’t want to discuss my future because I am concentrated on the Germany game. I will talk about it at the end of the European Championship.”
Asked if he preferred English fish and chips or Spanish paella, Ronaldo replied ‘bacalhau’ — Portuguese salted cod.
Who in their sane mind will want to sell Ronaldo to another club for sporting reason?
Unless you are talking about business.

However as a non-Man U fan, it dun bode well for us if Ronaldo stays with Man U.
Ronaldo's reputation (among the Man Utd fans) has already taken a hit. From my point of view, if his heart is in Madrid, let him go. We can always get new signings and play a different style without Ronaldo.
if ronaldo next season no-form glazer can take gun and shoot themselfs

hmm u wont know if he lost that amount of hunger that got him the cars the watches the money and the challenging epl title plus losing heart in utd he may nt perform to his best
I think that's when we should sell him, to anyone lol.
No point keeping him if he wants to go.
Anyway, knowing Ronaldo's attitude, he'll force his way out even if we dont wanna sell him.
Exactly. That prick is too full of himself. Sell him off!!! He's not worth the trouble. Anyway if Real is willing to pay so bloody much to Man U, might as well take the offer. They are giving away Robhino also, and with the rest of the transfer budget, might as well buy Veloso and some other super winger. Cos really no pt keeping such an idiot.
I thought Arsenal are the only big 4 clubs that are being forced to sell/lose their players.
Din expect Man U to suffer the same fate as they are financially much stronger than Arsenal.

Only Ronaldo and no one else... Very different from the gunners where it has been happening for years and this time... Possibility of 2, 3 or even 4 could leave...
And its also not about the money... They can reject that area even tho it will be a world record transfer fee... Its only because he grew up in Portugal and Real Madrid is seen to be a dream move for him... apart from of course a $200 to $300k per week salary...
by selling ronaldo for 70m , man u can gather a new breed of young devils.
