Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones admits he is 'proud' to have caught the eye of Manchester United.
Reports in Germany have claimed that the 26-year-old has been scouted by the Premier League champions.
Jones only joined Schalke last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt, and enjoyed an impressive debut season at the Veltins Arena.
He is flattered to have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but acknowledged he is under contract at Schalke.
"Man United are a class team," Jones told Bild. "The interest makes me proud.
"But I still have a valid contract with Schalke."
Jones' agent Roger Wittmann intends to hold talks with the player in the coming weeks to discuss plans for next season, following the recent transfer speculation.
Schalke are keen to hang on to Jones, who narrowly missed out on a place in Germany's squad for Euro 2008.

Schalke Deny United, Chelsea Contact For Rakitic & Jones
Schalke 04's general manager Andreas Muller has denied any approach from Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea for Jermaine Jones and Ivan Rakitic.
Rakitic, who impressed for Croatia at Euro 2008, is reportedly being monitored by Chelsea to add strength to their left wing, with rumours still abound that Florent Malouda may leave the club this summer.
Dynamic midfielder Jermaine Jones has been linked with a move to Manchester United to further strengthen their already formidable midfield options.
Muller, though, maintains that no Premier League club has popped up with the big money for either player yet, and intimated that both are happy to stay at the club.
"Up until now, no club has waved a fat cheque for millions in front of me," he said. "Basically we don't want to sell either, and also Schalke is not the worst place for them."
