Brazilian star Daniel Alves has been made available by Seville - and United are heading the queue to grab him.
The 25-year-old attacking right-back is one of the hottest properties in Spain.
And United, Chelsea and Barcelona have all been linked with the South American star.
Alves'
team-mate Luis Fabiano is also rumoured to be interesting Reds boss Sir
Alex Ferguson as he looks for a fit and prolific replacement for Louis
Saha, who is said to interesting West Ham.
Seville president Jose Maria Del Nido claims he's rejected three offers of £20m for Alves.
"The storm that is pre-season has begun and Daniel has been put on the market without Sevilla doing so," said Del Nido.
"We
respect his decision. But if we do not receive a substantial offer for
him he will stay with us as he still has four years to complete on his
contract.
"Many English and Italian clubs have asked after his availability but we have rejected a number of offers.
"And we have rejected offers of more than 25m euro.
"Seville will not reduce the player's value as we do not need the money.
"However, we will not reject offers when there is a chance to grow as a team.
"Our
aim is to enter into the Champions League and every other available
competition. So we have to think about the most beneficial option for
the team."
On Brazilian Fabiano, Del Nido insisted: "He is nearer to staying with us. But a final agreement is still far away.
"However, if he stays it is clear that he will become one of the best paid players of the squad."
United clearly need to strengthen at right-back because of the uncertainty over Gary Neville's future.
Wes Brown was outstanding last season but is also needed to cover for Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in the centre of defence.
didn't this guy begs barca to sign him??
