NEMANJA VIDIC is desperate to face Wigan in Sunday’s title decider despite playing just one full game in six weeks. Defender Vidic, 26, went off with concussion just 14 minutes into Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea 11 days ago. And that was only his second game back following three weeks out with a knee injury sustained in the Champions League, during United’s 2-0 first-leg victory over Roma.
Vidic was ruled out of last week’s Euro triumph against Barcelona and Saturday’s 4-1 Premier League win over West Ham. But the 6ft 1in Serb star has declared himself fit and Alex Ferguson could be tempted to reunite him with Rio Ferdinand for Sunday’s must-win clash.
Fergie’s side have kept 23 clean sheets in all competitions this season with the pair together at the back.
