Man Utd price Liverpool out of Valencia battle
Manchester United have priced Liverpool out of the race for Wigan Athletic winger Luis Antonio Valencia.
The Mirror says Reds boss Rafa Benitez has made inquiries about Valencia and was ready to spend around £6million on the Ecuador star who can play on both flanks.
But apparent interest from Manchester United has pushed the fee towards £10m, well beyond Liverpool's budget. Negotiations are already under way to thrash out a deal.

Bruce Resigned To Auctioning Stars Off
Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce has admitted he'll have little choice but to sell to the highest bidder if top clubs come in for South American stars Wilson Palacios and Luis Valencia.
“I don’t want to lose players of their calibre but I’m a realist," admitted Bruce. “If the big clubs wave their cheque books it’ll be hard to send them away. And it will have to be the big clubs because of the money we’d want.”
The Latics want around £10m for 22-year-old Valencia, who joined the club for just half that from Villareal. 23-year-old Honduran Palacios cost the club a bargain £1m from Olimpico and Wigan are hoping to seal a massive profit by selling him less than a year later for £5m. -
Deal is looking more and more realistic.

Replacement for Park, abit too soon right?
I was thinking Park would finally be given a decent run in the team next season with Giggs slowy fading to a subs role.

its a precaution.. after giggs and ronaldo, we have nani(still inexperience) and park.. it anyone is injured.. then it won;t leave the rest with much needed rest and options, so i think Saf thinking right, he's the boss remember?
