Championship promotion chasers Ipswich have signed Manchester United defender Danny Simpson on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old right-back has made eight appearances for United this season but, with Gary Neville close to a comeback, further chances at Old Trafford this term were likely to be limited.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "It is good for the lad. The boy needs games and I have allowed him to go to Ipswich until the end of the season.
"They are a good football team and that will suit him fine."
Simpson could make his debut in Saturday's clash against Scunthorpe at Glanford Park.
