Ben Foster will be rewarded with a new long-term contract at Manchester United - to fend off interest from Tottenham.
The England international made an impressive first-team debut for United in Saturday's 1-0 win at Derby and Sir Alex Ferguson believes he has got the potential to be No.1 for club and country.
That has convinced Ferguson to give Foster, 24, a new long-term deal as his current contract expires in 2009.
Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli, currently looking for a new keeper to replace Paul Robinson who is set to leave in the summer, has earmarked Foster as a potential recruit.
Although they may have to look at Espanyol's Carlos Kameni.
101% sure he wont leave us.
:D cool!
