Guillem Balague told Revista that Cristiano Ronaldo's mum has been 'hypnotised' by the legend of Real Madrid.
Dolores Aveiro Ronaldo appeared in Spanish newspaper AS pictured holding a picture of her son super-imposed in a Real Madrid kit.
She was quoted as saying Real Madrid 'are my favourite team, the best in the world,' and 'If one day he were to leave England then I would really like to see him go to Madrid.'
Balague told Revista: "She basically said in an interview with AS that she would love to see Cristiano Ronaldo in a Real Madrid shirt before she dies.
"She also added that it won't happen now, but in a couple of years."
Balague, a respected journalist in Spain and in England, is sure that Ronaldo's family would like to see their son run out at the Santiago Bernabeu in the all-white of Madrid.
He added: "What's clear in the eyes of everybody who did the report is that the family of Cristiano Ronaldo, which is a modest family, feel that going to Real Madrid is a step above Manchester United.
"I'm not saying it's true or not but that's what they feel. (Mrs Ronaldo) reckons that if Cristiano went to Real Madrid she would go and live with him and everybody would be happy because it would be a real dream come true.
"I don't think that's very fair on Manchester United but that's ceratinaly something that the history of Real Madrid has really.
