Manchester United are said to be eager to acquire Porto right back Jose Bosingwa in the January transfer window.
The former Boavista defender has been in fine form for the Dragões this season and has already attracted the attention of a few Premiership clubs. However, United's interest is thought to be new.
The Kinshasa-born 25-year-old was previously linked with a 20 million euro move to the English top flight, but United are said to be thinking more in the 11-12 million range.
While the player would surely be welcomed to the Lusitanian camp at Old Trafford, one possible sticking point is that the six-times capped Portuguese international is cup-tied in Europe.
The Red Devils have yet to comment on the situation.
