It's quite normal to get nervous when you meet royalty, so you can imagine the Queen getting quite a few butterflies when she met Ryan Giggs earlier this week.
Of course, Giggs is one of footballÂ’s blue bloods and has earned all the tributes dished out to him in the last seven days.
And itÂ’s been quite a week for the Welsh wonder wing (as heÂ’ll always be known).
His 100th league goal for Manchester United against Derby last Saturday was followed by his trip to Buckingham Palace where he collected an OBE for services to the game.
He could even afford to stay at home with the wife and kids while his United team-mates went off to play Roma in the Champions League, knowing qualification was already secured.
Perhaps, though, the biggest tribute to the Cardiff-born conjuror (sorry) this season was Sir Alex FergusonÂ’s decision to award the 34-year-old another year on his contract.
His Reds career, which began as a substitute in 1991 and spans 736 games, could spawn even more honours to add to the nine Premiership titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups and one European Cup he already has under his belt.
And, as well as all his medals and his unstinting loyalty, Giggs has been a model professional, shattering the image of a modern-day footballer.
