firstly, ronaldo's performance.. He was out of the game, (like in Milan), and was ineffective. There were 2 attempts to get free-kicks which did not go down well with me. I expected much from him, but again he did not deliver.
thats why u see that ronny doesnt really do well in big matches agst pool and milan.
and also.. interestingly... he does superbly well in most of the matches against the weaker sides e.g Fulham.
i think pool did a good job in silencing him though

Boss praises Owen and Anderson
Sir Alex Ferguson saluted the players making their first appearance against Liverpool after they helped to win his 50th game against the old enemy.
Anderson and Owen Hargreaves worked tirelessly in United's engine room to subdue Steven Gerrard and give the men in black the platform to claim their fifth win in six league visits to Anfield.
"Anderson was terrific, he wasnÂ’t intimidated by Steven Gerrard," Sir Alex told MUTV.
"I thought he handled that particular part of the game really well. Steven was actually quite quiet today. Hargreaves has got more experience obviously. Both of them did a great job."
The Anderson-Hargreaves axis underpinned an effective team display in which grit outweighted the guile. That said, the goal which separated the great rivals was fashioned by a clever piece of setpiece play. Instead of delivering an inswinger from the right, Ryan Giggs arrowed a pass to Wayne Rooney from the corner and his shot was turned in by Carlos Tevez.
"Ryan had the opportunity to do that with the corner kick prior to that one," said Sir Alex. "He could have used Owen Hargreaves because the corner of the box was free.
"But we took that opportunity the second time around and of course from Wayne Rooney's deflected shot, Carlos scored."
One goal was enough to win it for United, just as it was last season when O'Shea scored and in 2005 when Rooney was the match winner. Chances were at a premium with neither goalkeeper called upon too frequently.
"It was a typical Liverpool-United game," assessed Sir Alex.
"The fans create such a fervour and itÂ’s difficult for the referee. Flowing football isnÂ’t the issue, itÂ’s about winning the game. But in the moments when we did play football in the first half, we looked the better team.
"ItÂ’s a marvellous day for us - a good team performance and a great result. I said before the game that I feel the games between the top sides are going to be important this season. ThatÂ’s an important win for us.
"At the moment weÂ’re top (prior to Arsenal playing Chelsea) and I hope we stay there at the end of the day.
"ItÂ’s going to be a long struggle and a fight until the end of the season. But IÂ’ve always said around December, if we can be top or thereabouts on New YearÂ’s Day then we have an outstanding chance of retaining the title." -

Great players are supposed to make their own space...
He can't be judged against weaker teams.
Ronaldo should be able to dominate these matches (milan, gunners, pool).
if he can't perform at big matches, how can he be still in united?
United needs big players with big guts, and able to perform.
similiarly, I feel why is rooney being penalised for every aerial challenge against carragher?
lastly, we found a keano-type in OwenH.. when he went in against riise, wow.. my eyebrows were raised.. He stamp his authority there and then.. -

well, what did Torres their ElNino do? he was put in the back pocket of Rio.
What EDS did was silly, and inevitable gave liverpool a few chances to score, but so what, they can't score. and neither can they create...
and yes, liverpool may have more of the ball, but what's their only plan?
pump it long, wimbledon style.. I feel for those true pool fans, they must have put their hands to their face, in disbelief to see how their "classy" pool has transformed to long ball..

Great win great win! I silenced so many of my Pool-fan frens yesterday hahaha! It was especially satisfying considering how arrogant they were before the match, with only one name on their lips - Torres. If don't have him they how ah?
Anyway, we still won and that's all that matters!
Great play. I thought Liverpool had more chances, but our Rio-Vidic too strong for them. Yeah, disappointing play by VDS...he fumbled one too many times. If Pool got a goal cos of his fumbles, he sure gana crucified man!
Anderson was great!
