The Manchester United number 7, 17 with Portugal, picked up a commemorative medal after playing his fiftieth match at full international level and hit out at those fans who'd booed the home team for a lukewarm performance - and at Ronaldo himself.
"We're in Portugal and we know how the Portuguese react", he snapped at the sector of audibly disgruntled supporters in Leiria. "I've played in England for five seasons and my fans have never booed me once. It's a sad reality that we have to deal with when we play here", explained the striker.
"If we played badly and won, well, I prefer that than to have played well and have lost. Now things just depend on us and we know that if we beat Finland - or even draw with them then we're qualified for the Euro 2008 Finals", ended the young gun.
