Owen Hargreaves, a player rapidly challenging Louis Saha for the title of Balsa Man at Old Trafford, is to return to England duty for the match against Croatia.
Hooray.
Or, perhaps not.
Hargreaves missed EnglandÂ’s vital friendly against Austria after further problems with the knee which has troubled him all season but now he is back and ready for the Wembley showdown.
The trouble for United is that if Hargreaves is nursing knee trouble it might well flare up again during or after the Croatia match.
Hargreaves has already missed a considerable amount of the season since joining from Bayern Munich this summer and you have to question his durability in view of the playerÂ’s persistent injury problems.
United fans will no doubt have their fingers crossed on Wednsday – not for England to at least draw – but to make sure Hargreaves comes through in one piece.
