SCHOLES OUT FOR UP TO THREE MONTHS

Paul Scholes faces a scan tomorrow which could confirm Manchester UnitedÂ’s fears that he will be out for three months.
Scholes has a damaged knee and one recent scan proved inconclusive. But the initial diagnosis was not optimistic – with the club resigned to the player having to undergo surgery.
Now – because of Scholes’s importance to the side – they are sending the player for another scan tomorrow and United are praying for better news.
Scholes himself is less optimistic. If he is ruled out for three months then he will be out of action until well into the New Year.
The news spoiled United boss Sir Alex FergusonÂ’s weekend after he saw his side go top of the table with a win over Boro.

Paul Scholes has been ruled out until the end of January after scan results showed he has suffered knee ligament damage.
The 32-year-old midfielder was given the news after visiting a specialist on Monday. He is now scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday to correct the problem.
He sustained the injury after turning awkwardly in training the night before United's Champions League Group F clash with Dynamo Kyiv.
The Salford-born star was immediately ruled out of the game, then sent for a scan when the team returned to Manchester after the 4-2 victory. The initial results proved inconclusive, so he was sent for another scan and consultation with another specialist on Monday.
A club spokesperson told ManUtd.com: "We can confirm that Paul Scholes has suffered a knee ligament injury. He will undergo an operation on Thursday and will be out for approximately 12 weeks." -

The Manchester United midfielder sustained knee ligament damage during training last week and will have an operation on Thursday. The ex-England star will miss 13 Premier League games, starting with Saturday's visit to Arsenal.
The blow has been softened by the return of Three Lions midfielders Michael Carrick and Owen Hargreaves. Carrick is back in traing after he dislocated an elbow against Roma earlier this month.
Hargreaves made his comeback from a knee injury in United's 4-1 win over Middlesbrough at the weekend.
Lucky Carrick and Hargreaves are back...
