Sir Alex set on Sagnol switch

Bayern Munich star Willy Sagnol is a £4.5million target for Manchester United.
United boss Alex Ferguson is keeping a close eye on the France right-back and could move in the January transfer window.
Fergie rates the Frenchman highly and United need cover in that position.
Sagnol, 30, is returning to fitness after four months out with a leg injury. Crucially, he could be available for Champions League duty, as he has not played in Europe with Bayern so far this season.
United are also trying to nab highly-rated Spain Under-18 keeper David De Gea from Atletico Madrid.
De Gea, who impressed in this summerÂ’s Under-17s World Cup in South Korea, has not yet signed a pro contract and United are trying to convince him to join them. -
Good idea i think cos united do need cover in defence now that Neville is not fully fit yet and Silvestre out for the rest of the season... Fergie always seem to go for experience short-term cover in mid season like he did with Henrik Larsson last season...

I'm hoping Fergie gives Simpson a chance to play instead of bringing someone in.

Sagnol Demands Move From Bayern
The 30 year old international, who has recently returned from a long-term knee injury, has revealed his desire to be granted a move away from the Allianz Arena.
“I asked the club a few weeks ago to be allowed to leave in the winter break” the full-back explained.
Sagnol extended his contract with the Bundesliga giants till 2010 back in 2006, but the Frenchman has not revealed the reasons for his desire to leave.
Bayern captain Oliver Kahn has reacted with disbelief to the news. “I don’t know what’s bugging Willy. Being injured for so long shouldn’t make you crazy. The trainer decides who plays.”
Sagnol announced his return from injury at the start of November and has made two appearances for the Bayern Regionalliga side.
He signed for Bayern in 2000 from Monaco and has made 175 Bundesliga appearances for the Bavarian giants.
It has been recently speculated that Alex Ferguson was interested in taking the Frenchman to Old Trafford. -
