Manchester United star Park Ji-sung is running on the road to recovery after a serious injury and still expects to be back in action at the start of 2008.
The 26 year-old went under the knife in April after sustaining a knee injury helping United push for the Premier League title and the South Korean is pleased with his progress as he aims to return to fitness.
"At the moment I am trying to recover as hard as I can,” Park told Ilgan Sports at the club's Carrington training ground.
“Recently, I started jogging and step-by step I am moving closer to a return in January. I am not yet training with the other players at the moment, I am training alone," he added.
Without Park, who signed for the club in July 2005, the champions are going well on both domestic and continental fronts and the former PSV Eindhoven star knows that he will face a fight to earn a place in the starting eleven.
"Competition is fiercer than before with the signing of players like Nani. It is important that I have the confidence to perform to my best when I return," he said.
