Veteran ponders new deal

Veteran Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar says he will decide whether to sign a new deal in December.
The Dutchman, who is 37 at the end this month, agreed a new contract at Old Trafford until next summer last December and says he will decide whether to put pen to paper on a year's extension around the same time this year.
"We will decide in December what we are going to do, the same as last year," he said. "At the moment I want to get back playing and get back to the form I was in before." -

Van der Sar to land new deal at United
Edwin van der Sar last night vowed to stay at Manchester United for another season and assist the development of his long-term replacement, Ben Foster.
Van der Sar is out of contract at the end of the season and celebrates his 37th birthday on Monday.
But the Holland international revealed he hopes to open talks about a one-year extension in December and hinted that his new role may involve some coaching.
He said: "My agent has not heard anything official from the club yet, but I expect to hold talks with the relevant people in December. Last year we extendedmy contract in that month, so that could well happen again.
"I'm very happy here. I'm playing at a very high level every week and with my experience I can maybe help the younger players a lot in the future."
