Carrick sidelined by broken elbow

  Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick will be out of action for up to six weeks with a fractured right elbow.
  
  The injury also means the 26-year-old will miss England's crucial upcoming Euro 2008 qualifying games against Estonia and Russia.
  
  He suffered the injury during the latter stages of United's Champions League victory over Roma on Tuesday.
  
  Carrick appeared fine immediately after the game, but X-rays have revealed the full extent of the problem.
  
  The injury also leaves United boss Sir Alex Ferguson facing a selection headache for Saturday's encounter with Wigan, with Owen Hargreaves already ruled out.
  
  Midfielder Hargreaves will be out of action for up to four weeks with a knee injury.

  He was on the bench at Roma but I dont think he's ready for Prem football yet..

  fergie's philosophy will be to place a DM...
  n the man who's available is OHSEA...provided brown/neville can be fit ...
  giggs drifting to middle is possible with nani playing on the left.

  Very bad... with Hargreaves out for another month losing Carrick now is really bad timing... Will miss Carrick's great passing from the back... Scholes seem to be losing his attacking instinct thesedays...

  I think scholes is covering too much and that limits his attacking..
  imagine, when he was with Keano, the perfect combination..
  but alas, OwenH seems to be out for a long time, now carrick..
  just when carrick seems to be on the rise..
  
  Giggs was pretty ineffective, the last few games..
  
  Nani is picking up and one area where he is much better than ronaldo is his tackling ability.
  
  I think OShea is the perfect choice to step in now as stop-gap DM..
  
  Eagles is the right winger lor.
