Fergie wins race to sign new George Best

  Manchester United have won the race to sign Irish boy wonder Rob Brady, the latest 'new George Best'.
  
  The 15-year-old was being chased by the majority of the Premier League and his dad was even schmoozed at the Champions League final by Liverpool and FA Cup final by Chelsea last season.
  
  But Brady will join Sir Alex Ferguson's academy kids when he turns 16 in January, in what is said to be a lucrative deal.
  
  Meanwhile, Liverpool are trying to pinch Burnley's 14-year-old sensation John Cofie from under Fergie's nose.
  
  United were expecting to tie up one of the most exciting talents around for about £1m.
  
  But Liverpool hope to pull off a major coup for the young striker - because his family are all mad Kopites.
  
  Chelsea have also made an offer but their scouts have been banned from Burnley home youth games to stop them seeing too much of the kid in action.

  I don't understand why Burnley want to sell this kid if they already know that he would be a ''sensation''.
  
  Why dont they just keep him and make their team better?

  I think the board decided that its better to cash in now, then to have the possibility of the Prem clubs losing interest if he doesn't progress as expected.

  and if the kid knows clubs like man utd, liverpool, chelski wants to sign him, do you think he'll still have the concentration to play for burnley?
  
  eventually clubs will just rather take the cash now than to fight with the player saying he has a contract to abide? and this in turn will cause the player's value to drop.
