Manchester United are keen to sign Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik, according to reports in Italy.
Tutto Sport claims United have tabled a bid of 18million euros (£12.6million) for the Slovakia international.
Hamsik has been in fine form for Napoli in recent weeks and his agent is thrilled with news of interest from Old Trafford.
"At this moment, I can say just one thing - we are delighted," Juraj Venglos said in Slovakian daily Sport.
"Hamsik has made another step forward which has made the public take notice and without any doubt he will make another step in the future.
"I believe that he will make it at the right moment and will take the right direction."
Hamsik himself is remaining cool on the speculation, according to his father Richard.
He explained: "Marek got to know about the interest on Wednesday when everybody in Napoli began to take it as official news.
"So far he has not taken it too seriously. He is not bothered about it as he is mainly focusing on his performances for Napoli. He is happy there.
"Of course though it is pleasant if such a club shows interest."
