Queiroz: I'll quit United

Carlos Queiroz has dropped a bombshell by revealing he is ready to quit Manchester United.
Queiroz, 54, is frustrated with his Old Trafford assistant role and is looking at other options.
He is in his second spell as Alex FergusonÂ’s No 2 after an unsuccessful term at SpainÂ’s Real Madrid.
Queiroz said: “I need to reflect on what I want to do in this last part of my career.
“In December I’m going to stop and think about myself.
“My contract is perpetual and caters for various options. But I only have one life and one career. I am going to think about it and go for the route that makes me most happy.”
Fergie has said he would like Queiroz to succeed him, but he is clearly not prepared to wait.
He said: “I read Sir Alex said that one day he would like me to be United’s main coach. That is one reason I am in this project but I’m not desperate about it.
“In your personal and professional life you always have more ambitions.”
One option would be a return home. He said: “To coach in Portugal is a possibility.” -
You just shot yourself in your foot carlos... there are capable managers in the PL and Europe who is far more capable than you are and who would be more than willing to take on the challange in united...
The board would be crazy to ask SAF to retire early just for the sake of keeping you in O.T..

However, after the WC's incident, Ronaldo can see SAF's backing, the club supporters' backing, so Carlos became not as important.
I think we all still remember how he managed Real Madrid so I think the glacers won't agree to him taking over.
For I firmly believe sometimes, when you want to buy players, they see the club, but also the management style of the manager.
Personally, I hate people who threaten to quit/leave. If you want, do it professionally, and leave quietly, or on a good note. -

Carlos plays down United exit rumour
Manchester United assistant Carlos Queiroz has denied he is ready to walk out on the club and insists he wants "to be a part of" their future.
"It is just a misunderstanding, for sure," he told Sky Sports News.
"I don't understand why that has come up, but the most important thing is that I'm happy, I'm very happy with the job and the position at Manchester United.
"The club is happy with me, so there's no reason to waste time with that issue."
He added: "There is nothing to comment about that because there is no sense to it."
Queiroz, 54, is thought to have played a key role in United's plundering of the Portuguese league this summer for some of the SuperLiga's top young talent in the form of Nani and Anderson.
And with that promising duo being added to more established young superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez and Wayne Rooney, the former Real Madrid coach is adamant there are few reasons to want to leave in the near future.
"Especially at this moment, we have made a lot of decisions with a medium and long-term view," he added.
"We expect a lot of things from our youngest players, talented players that we have got in the last season.
"So there are a lot of hopes and expectations about the future, and I want to be part of that future - it is really a big challenge for all of us." -
