Ballack Should Have Moved To Madrid Or Man Utd - Beckenbauer

In the wake of the controversy of Michael Ballack's Champions League omission, Franz Beckenbauer has reiterated his stance that the midfielder should have moved to Real Madrid instead.
"I think it was a mistake to move to that club [Chelsea]," Beckenbauer told Bild.
"There was a space available for his position with Manchester United and he would have fitted into their system perfectly. The same with Real Madrid.
"But at Chelsea his role was already filled by Frank Lampard.
"Where can he move to now?
"His first transfer opportunity is during the winter, and I hardly suppose Bernd Schuster's Madrid are interested after bringing in Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder." -

He once mentioned that he needs attacking fullbacks down the wings..I cant see why that suit his style but thats certainly the style man utd perfected

X2.His crosses are effective too. He's 1 of the few full backs ive seen that can attack as well as he defends..Most fullbacks can attack all they want..but can hardly do their defending job properly..Man Utd's gonna have a hard time finding some1 to replace him when he leavesOriginally posted by dragg:his overlapping run is fantastic.

U realise that last time at Bayern he would used to have active forwards that would track back for the ball and midfielders and wingbacks that would push forward for attacking formations...

Michael Ballack Blames Chelsea Style For His Lacklustre Show
Premiership champions Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and the Blues' summer signing German international midfielder Michael Ballack seem to be heading towards a clash with the former Bayern Munich star blaming the teamÂ’s style of play for his lackluster performance in England since his high-profile arrival.
Ballack has accused Mourinho's team of not playing to his strengths, The Mirror has reported.
The German midfielder, who is paid £130,000- per-week salary, has said the Blues give away the ball far too easily. He also rued less aerial service as compared to what he received with the Bundesliga giants.
Ballack has also hinted that many of Chelsea players play for themselves than the team. But for him, he added: "Success of the team is that what counts. But we have to learn to play together better."
The Gorlitz-born Ballack has been quoted as saying: "I would have hoped there would be more crosses in the air for me to score from. At Munich the tactics were similar but there were far more crosses."

I haven seen Alves play yet...No doubt hes effective going forward, but bottom line is a full back is still a defender and his priority is to defend well.
