Wes Brown has admitted he is always desperate to play for Manchester United.
The versatile defender accepts that when United are at full strength he may not make Sir Alex Ferguson's first XI, but he is still keen to play a role.
Brown has struggled with a variety of injuries in his nine years at Old Trafford and now he is focused on playing as many games for United as possible as they bid to defend their Premier League crown.
"I always want to play," Brown told The Daily Telegraph.
"That's the main thing. If I was here and didn't play a game then that would be completely different.
"But I can honestly say that when I have been fit I've played maybe 25-plus games a season.
"That's a good amount. When everyone is fit, I don't get on the pitch. But it's a squad game.
"Throughout my time here I've always played the same role."
