GABRIEL HEINZE has launched a bitter attack on Sir Alex Ferguson, claiming the Old Trafford boss treated him like an outcast.
And he claimed Fergie wrecked his dream move to Anfield because of the ‘hatred' between Manchester United and Liverpool.
Heinze, who joined Real Madrid this week, said: "I deserved better treatment after my efforts for the club.
"I had to leave United because I am convinced Ferguson would not give me a minute all season.
"Now I would love to play United in the Champions League.
"I thank the United fans — but they are very different to the directors."
He believes Fergie held a grudge against him the moment the Argentina defender appeared in last summer's World Cup in Germany.
Heinze said: "My relations with him were normal until my bad knee injury in September 2005 and my efforts to play in the World Cup at the end of that season.
"I went to Spain for recovery but Ferguson thought it would be impossible for me to play in Germany in the proper condition.
"You could say I won the bet but I upset him and from that moment on, things were different between us."
Trigger
Heinze's move to Anfield fell through despite Rafa Benitez offering the £6.8million needed to trigger a buy-out clause.
But the Premier League ruled they could not force United to sell him to their bitter rivals.
Heinze lays the blame firmly at Ferguson's door.
He said: "The rivalry between United and Liverpool is fuelled not by sporting matters but by a hatred between the clubs.
"For Ferguson this was a personal question and he never wanted my transfer to up the road to Liverpool.
"But if I had to leave United it had to be for a big club in Europe.
"Real are the champions of Spain and one of the biggest teams in the world.
"Anyone would want to play for them."
Fergie hit back by claiming Heinze's financial demands threatened to destabilise the Old Trafford club.
He said: "Gaby came back unfit from the World Cup.
"We had to rehabilitate him again. Figure
"Meanwhile, all through that time the agents kept having meetings with David Gill asking to leave — or DOUBLE his money.
"We gave them a solid figure of finance but they would not budge from their own figure.
"They wanted him to be the TOP PAID player at Manchester United — which is absolutely ridiculous given the quality of forward players we had."
