Scholes eyes goal glut
Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes says his team-mates must quickly get back on the goal trail.
The Red Devils host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in an important match for both clubs. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted it is imperative that his side claim three points after failing to win any of their opening three Barclays Premier League matches.
"I would think the goals are just around the corner, but we can't take it for granted," said Scholes, whose side has scored just once this season. "There are lots of players in the team who can score goals and create them. Hopefully it will all click into place soon. But we'd obviously like to have won at least one of our opening three games."
find the net
United are without the injured Wayne Rooney for the next few weeks, while Cristiano Ronaldo is banned for the next two matches after being sent-off against Portsmouth last week. Without the key pair, United failed to find the net in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday. However, Scholes is remaining upbeat.
He added: "It gives those that maybe haven't had the chance to shine an opportunity. We've got a good enough squad."
