FLETCHERÂ’S UNITED CRISIS TALKS

Unsettled Darren Fletcher is today set for crisis talks with Sir Alex Ferguson about his Manchester United future. The Scotland midfielder will voice his concern and frustration to Ferguson over his lack of first-team action when he returns to Carrington from leading his country in last nightÂ’s friendly against South Africa.
The summer arrivals of Owen Hargreaves, Carlos Tevez, Nani and Anderson have pushed Fletcher down the midfield pecking order. Despite UnitedÂ’s injury problems, Fletcher has failed to start a game this season and, surprisingly, did not even make the bench for SundayÂ’s Manchester derby when Ferguson selected youngsters Chris Eagles and Fraizer Campbell ahead of him.
With the transfer window closing at the end of next week, the 23-year-old has told friends that the time may have come to quit United. Newcastle – who have already snapped up Alan Smith, another player who was on the first-team fringe at Old Trafford – and Liverpool, surprisingly, will lead the queue of clubs interested in Fletcher.
He joined United as a 16-year-old and has made 150 appearances – 115 starts plus 35 as a substitute – for the club since his debut in March 2003. -

to size it up, Fletcher was one of the better subs / players last season.
but he will nvr go into 1st team because :
a. he is too feeble, he is not fast, he is not a good dribbler, and he is not a good tackler, he can get knocked off the ball.
b. he is not a consisitent scorer - i.e. for Scotland or Man U - true that he was not given sufficient chances but sometimes, you need to take advantage of these chances to prove your mettle.
c. Christiano Ronaldo is doing very well and now there is Nani - so time for him to say adios and pack up....though he did do well whilst filling in as emergency right back, Brown (although I think he is crap) seems to be the guy SAF favor.
So, with Fletcher sounding his dissatisfaction, who's next? O Shea or Silvestre or Brown. -

squad player, never a 1st team player in man utd...too many world class players ahead of him liao..

next shld be silvestre. brown got chance to play cos neville injured. and he can play CB too, as cover for rio and vidic. o'shea is the new philip neville la. maybe next time move on to become everton captain.... hmm maybe he may wanna leave too? i dun know... i nv expected fletcher or o'shea to make any noise in the 1st place... maybe now pple scotland captain, keep thinking he shld deserve a 1st eleven place -

My dad is one of the few people who thinks that Fletcher has improved quite a bit since he first saw him, anw I used to disagree, until the thrashing of Roma.
That night, Fletcher was fantastic, doing a Gattuso impersonation, flying alll around the place with huge energy levels, snapping at Roma. He did brilliantly that night, so well that he was picked against Milan.
Unfortunately, it was a one night only performance. I think he should have left long ago, and now, it might come time for him to leave. -
Fergie should keep him. He gives it all for the team and is a great utility player.

Nope, he actually played an exquisite chip to set up Boyd for the winner. That is pure class.
