Sven Goran Eriksson will bury the hatchet with Alex Ferguson — over a £415 bottle of red wine.
The Manchester City boss, 59, has splashed out on a posh Cabernet Sauvignon to share with his rival after SundayÂ’s derby clash.
Eriksson is keen to play down his run-ins with Fergie while he was England boss.
The Swede insisted: “There’s no problem between me and Alex.
"We might have had different opinions regarding United and the national team, especially concerning friendly games. But we also had a lot of dinners together, so thereÂ’s nothing personal there at all.
“One thing is for sure, I won’t be taking Alex’s players like I used to!”
Eriksson ordered the top-of-the-range booze on Wednesday.
A source said: “Sven didn’t have time to shop around but got the hotel where he is staying to sort him out with a top-class bottle.
“It’s a £415 Cabernet Sauvignon which should be pretty pleasant.”
United have made a stuttering start to the season, drawing their first two games.
And Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo will miss the Eastlands clash through injury and suspension.
But Eriksson is not gloating. He said: “It is a pity, as fans want to see the best players performing.
“United still have plenty of other players, though.”
The wine will see Eriksson join the Fergie and Jose Mourinho wine club. The source added: “Fergie and Jose like to impress each other.
“Last year, Jose produced a £200 Portuguese bottle to share with Sir Alex, so Sven’s is looking good at double that price.”
