Giuseppe Rossi has no doubts that he has made the right decision to leave Manchester United and choose Villarreal over a return to Serie A.The highly-rated striker's decision to move to Spain caused a surprise after he was expected to either stay at Old Trafford or go back to Italy on loan.
Despite the shock his move caused, Rossi is pleased with his choice and he believes that all the early signs have convinced him he can succeed and El Madrigal.
“I’ve joined a very ambitious club,” he said.
“It was difficult to leave Manchester, but the first days here have convinced me that I made the right choice.”
Villarreal have struggled to recover the form that saw them finish in the top four three years ago and then reach the Champions League semi finals in 2005-06, but Rossi hopes that they can bounce back.
“The big objective is to get back in the Champions League where the side did so well two years ago,” he continued.
"I hope that we can have a good run int he league and also fight for the UEFA Cup and the Copa de Rey.
"We are capable of doing that we have a very strong squad here. "
After only a few days at his new club, the media are already asking if he would every consider a return to England but Rossi is not thinking about that.
“I know that there is a clause that will let me return to Manchester United,” he admitted. “But I’m just thinking about Villarreal.”
