Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits the Manchester United players are 'excited' by the signing of Carlos Tevez.
The Argentine striker is waiting to officially complete his protracted move from West Ham United, with the deal expected to be sealed by the end of the week.
Though Tevez will increase the competition for places in the United attack, Solskjaer has welcomed the impending recruit.
And the Norwegian stalwart, who is working his way back to fitness after a knee operation, is relishing Tevez's arrival.
"I've been at this club now for 11 years and we have signed so many good players," Solskjaer told Sky Sports News.
"You are happy every single time you sign a good player and I hope we get Carlos' registration through soon.
"I think any new player you are excited about having. I don't want to say too much about him before he gets to be our player.
"He is going to be our player - that's been well documented - and we've really worked hard to get him because Carlos is a very, very good player."
Solskjaer also dismissed suggestions that Tevez is too similar in style to forge a potent partnership with Wayne Rooney.
He added: "No single player is exactly the same.
"Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke - everyone said they can't play together, absolutely no chance, but we all know what happened to those two."
