Reds announce charity partners
Manchester United has announced a new programme of support for charities in the UK.
Following a three-month tender process, which was open to registered charities throughout the UK, the Club has signed three-year agreements (from 1 August 2007 to 31 July 2010) with two UK charities and four North West charities. The six charities will become the Club's preferred charity partners on an exclusive basis in the UK. The Charity Partners are:

Francis House ChildrenÂ’s Hospice
The New Manchester ChildrenÂ’s Hospital Appeal
Rainbow House
Christies Hospital
David Gill, Chief Executive of Manchester United explained: "Manchester United has always made a strong commitment to our communities. Our new partnerships will enable us to work with them to raise a significant amount of money throughout the three-year period and support a number of important projects. Each charity has nominated a specific project which the funds will be used to support. We are extremely proud of these partnerships and the young people who will be supported.”
The Club’s partnerships will be managed by Manchester United Foundation (Trading) Limited. "We were inundated with applications," says Foundation chief executive, Trish Hirst. "The process we have followed has been open and fair, allowing our fans and staff to influence the decisions we made. The charities we have selected to partner have been through a rigorous process and we're delighted to agree contracts with them. This is an exciting time for all of us.”
