Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini has demanded more from his team following the two Emirates Cup defeats to Valencia and Arsenal.
After a lacklustre 0-2 defeat to Valencia on Saturday, it was slightly better against Arsenal. However, they were still clearly second best, falling to a 2-1 defeat.
Roberto Mancini now wants the team to turn up the heat against Manchester United, in what will the clash between the Italian and English champions, on Wednesday.
"We had a few players missing, and are not at full fitness yet, but we know we can do better," said Mancini.
"Ibra had a slight problem so we decided it was best to leave him out. He should play against United though.
"If he can play at Old Trafford, and we have Maxwell and Dejan Stankovic back, we will have a better team and will hopefully do something better."
An obvious topic was the debut of Christian Chivu after he finally completed his move over the weekend.
"Christian Chivu did well," opined Mancini. "He has been training with Roma so he is in good shape and impressed in todayÂ’s match."
Arsene Wenger himself admitted that not too much shuold be read into Inter Milan's performance.
"They were missing a lot of their South Americans, and Patrick Vieira, of course – although he is not South American, more North London," said the Arsenal boss with a smile.
"If we were to meet in the Champions League we know it would be a different game."
