Cristiano Ronaldo admits he is feeling fit ahead of the defence of Manchester United's Premier League crown.Last season's Footballer of the Year has been looking sharp during United's warm-up games and dazzled the Asian audiences during the club's four-game trip to the Far East.
The Red Devils face Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday before opening up with a game at home to Reading the following weekend.
Ronaldo is relishing the return to competitive action and the Portuguese winger hopes to emulate his achievements of last term.
"Things are very good for me," Ronaldo told MUTV. "I feel fit and I'm very happy with the way our preparations have gone.
"But I must keep my form going. The Premier League starts soon and I must be ready for that.
"I hope to play well. My ambition is still the same - I want to play well, score goals and provide assists.
"I tried to do the same last year and I worked hard to do that. I hope things come good for me."
Ronaldo also feels United have made astute purchases in the transfer market following the signings of Anderson, Owen Hargreaves and compatriot Nani.
He added: "We have signed three fantastic players and I hope they never leave.
"They will be great for the club and the team."
