GIGGS GETS A JOB FOR LIFE

Ryan GIGGS will be offered a job for life with Manchester United. The long-serving Wales winger will be handed a new one-year contract when his current deal runs out at the end of next season. And when Giggs, 33, finally decides to retire, United will ask him to become an ambassador for the club. In that role he would travel around the world promoting United's image and business brand.
Former United great Sir Bobby Charlton, a club director, is already employed in that capacity. Giggs is the longest-serving player in United's squad, having made his debut in 1991, and has won more medals than anyone in the club's history. Giggs is also just 43 appearances shy of equalling Charlton's club record of 759 - which he is set to pass if he agrees to United's offer of a one-year contract extension.
Giggs has admitted his place is under threat following the arrivals of both Nani and Anderson during the summer. But Ferguson is clearly looking for Giggs to play on with United at least up until the age of 35. -

Kit contains a DVD chokeful of his past exploits on the left wing. The grand finale will of cos showcase the Arsenal match in which he left defenders dead and scored at the same time.

Looks like Giggs is being groom to take over from Sir Bobby Charlton one day when he can't do the job anymore... Maybe in 30 yrs time we will see Giggs as an old man still going around the world promoting Man Utd...
Giggs is just 43 appearances from equalling Charlton's club record of 759 - which he could pass. And who knows, he may be known as Sir Ryan Giggs by then... -

It was his number that people use to clamour when buying those retro Man Utd kits
But really, he's a damn good role model la..No scandals (albeit very little), long serving captain and vice-captain, excellent player and loyal..If he gets knighthood, nobody deserves it the best but him..

I've always respected Ryan Giggs as the face of the modern Man Utd Team.
And although he made Tony Adams look like a fool, and broke all the Gunners' hearts in '99, I still respect the man for his loyalty to the club, and his ability to be a good role model.
Frankly, he's the best that Wales has ever produced and it's a shame that he couldn't play in the World Cup. -
I'm very glad that Fergie made the trip to young Giggsy's house in Christmas and persuaded him to join United. Or else we wouldn't have this legend at our club.
Giggs is definitely a good role model for budding players. A true legend.

i bet SAF will let giggs overtake charlton....
though he was crappy towards the end of last season.... he and scholes are still my fave players in the current team. ronaldo and rooney can take a step back till they prove that they can remain at this high level with man utd till when they are in their 30s... -
