Manchester United have still not received a single offer for Alan Smith, chief executive David Gill has confirmed.
Sir Alex Ferguson recently hinted that Smith could leave Old Trafford before the end of the summer, as he would not be guaranteed regular football this season.
Middlesbrough have been credited with an interest in the former Leeds striker and a number of other Premier League clubs are understood to be monitoring his situation.
Gill admits there have been a number of enquiries, including one by text, but insists nobody has yet made a formal bid.
He confirmed: "As yet, we have not had any firm offers for Alan Smith.
"A couple of clubs have called to ask us about the situation and we received a text from someone else about it this morning.
"We will see what happens but so far nothing has resulted from it."
