Gill fires cash warning

  David Gill has warned that Manchester United still have money to spend.
  
  Nani, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves have all arrived at Old Trafford since the end of last season and United are still hoping to secure Carlos Tevez from West Ham.
  
  Gill insists it was a deliberate tactic to spend big in the transfer window following United's Premier League success, to intimidate rivals such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
  
  But Gill maintains there are still funds available should Sir Alex Ferguson wish to strengthen his squad further.
  
  "There's always money there to invest in the squad," Gill told the Daily Star.
  
  "Over the years we've tried to invest when we've done well. We've not rested on our laurels.
  
  "And I think we've stolen a march on a number of clubs in getting Nani and Anderson."
  
  Meanwhile, Gill has hinted that Ferguson could stay as United manager for several more years.
  
  He explained: "As Alex said the other day, ultimately he will retire, at which point hopefully the squad that his successor inherits will be an extremely good squad.
  
  "But we haven't even discussed it yet."

  this is probably the main signal he is trying to send out, cause it will usually put off players if there is potential of changing of manager anytime soon.
