Manchester United's assistant boss Carlos Queiroz has confirmed The Red Devils want to bring another striker to Old Trafford.
The Premier League champions are desperate to land Carlos Tevez, although they are not guaranteed to bag the Argentine's coveted signature.
Queiroz believes the West Ham striker is just what the club need as he will provide a boost to United's strike force.
"As the manager's said we believe that a player like Carlos can give us a great boost, especially in that striking area," he told Sky Sports News.
"We need one more player, there's no doubt about that."
United have brought in Anderson and Nani from Portuguese football and Queiroz believes Tevez would have an advantage over the pair.
"The experience and the roots of Carlos are a little bit different (from our other signings)," he continued.
"I think it'll be easier for him to adapt because of how he did in the Premiership, the experience he has with West Ham.
"For me the most important thing is the number of years he's been playing first division games, and his contribution with the national team of Argentina."
