Tevez deal close, says Gill
United chief executive David Gill says the Reds are working round the clock to sort out a deal to bring Carlos Tevez to Old Trafford.
Gill says the situation is "overly complicated", but insists that United remain confident of bringing the 23-year-old West Ham forward to Manchester in "the next week or so".
“We are working on it and clearly it’s complicated - overly complicated in my humble opinion,” he told Reuters news agency.
“And we are working, effectively, with four other parties in order to sort it out: the player, West Ham, the companies who own his economic rights and the Premier League.
“The process is going on as we speak. The player is coming over to Manchester and will have a medical some time this week.
"Obviously the deal is subject to sorting out all the paperwork, but we’re very confident that that can be achieved in the course of the next week or so.”
Tevez was on the losing team as Argentina crashed to a 3-0 defeat against Brazil in the Copa America final on Sunday. But, now that the tournament is over, it frees him up to hopefully finalise a move.
close but not closed.
i think West Ham is just holding out for some money - either Kia gives or Man U fork out.
