Ferdinand sets sights on quadruple

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is eyeing a clean sweep of trophies next season.
The champions have already added Nani, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves to their squad and look set to conclude their dealings with a swoop for a top striker.
United may have won the title last season, but they fell at the semi-final stage of the Champions League, lost the FA Cup final to Chelsea and crashed out of the Carling Cup in the fourth round to minnows Southend.
Ferdinand believes with the new signings on board, the club should be aiming to win every available trophy next season.
He told Sky Sports News: "Next season we won't be talking about what happened last season, it's about what we want to win in the future,
"We want to win the league, the FA Cup, the Carling Cup and the Champions League.
"We know it's going to be difficult, but you've got to set your standards." -

talk big - honestly Man U still does not have the calibre to win in Europe yet - u need one or two more players. With ppl like Richardson (who shld be sold) & Brown (also shld be sold) -how can?
And you have aging VD / Giggs / Solksjaer / Scholes - needs to change. The new players need one two seasons to get into groove. Last season against AC milan the lack of a midfield lynchpin is made obvious and so far - Man U hasn't sign any - I dunno whether Heagraves will be the lynchpin.
Maybe first repeat the treble bah, its too demanding to take all....want to take the community shield as well? Make it 5. -

for big clubs, naturally, they aim to be competitive in every competitions.
So they can cover if they fail. With only one Carling cup under his belt, I bet the Glaciers got their spotlight on Fergie already. Fortunately, he delivered the title. But each season, the target get higher.
I do believe other managers like Wenger, RB, Jose, and Jol are also facing the pressure. Do you think Roman will keep Jose if he only win the FA & Carling Cup next season? or for that matter, Fergie if he only win the title? -
Owen Hargeaves, Anderson & Nani needs one more season to get into the grove, coming from a different league.
