Manchester United chief executive David Gill has admitted the club may sign a new striker this summer.The Premiership champions have already been busy in the transfer market setting up deals for Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson.
Despite this spree Gill says the spending at Old Trafford may not be finished with yet as the club ponder bringing in a new striker.
United have been linked with a number of top forwards in recent weeks including Dimitar Berbatov and Samuel Eto'o and Gill has hinted Sir Alex Ferguson may move for a new striker before the start of next season.
"We have looked at it and we don't rule out another [signing]," Gill told Sky Sports News.
"The area which is a striker but we will see what happens.
"We are not desperate for it but if one came along that Alex [Ferguson] and the team felt would improve the squad we are prepared to do that."
Gill also revealed that as a result of the new arrivals there will be the inevitable departures for some players at Old Trafford.
"There will be some changes but it would be wrong to comment as to that but I think they will be discussions we will have internally," added Gill.
"We have a got a large squad now there should be some people leaving, not many at all.
"There should be some leaving and don't forget we have some great players coming back who have been on loan.
"We want competition for places, we are looking to improve the squad and to take it on from last year
"We are not resting on our laurels, we want to do even better next year on the pitch.
"Alex is always looking to improve the quality of the team we have out there."
