man utd is going the way of a lone frontmen it seems.Originally posted by Dead_Man_Inc:man utd need his type of no nonsense attitude during match! don't sell him pls
but don't think lone frontmen suits man utd wellOriginally posted by stellazio:man utd is going the way of a lone frontmen it seems.
and smith doesn't seem suitable for that kinda role.
but i think they should keep him, not as a starter but he will come in useful.
Wah liew... after all da commitment Smithy gave, no contract for him. Dat is da reality of MANU management for you.Originally posted by zocoss:Man u will still play with a 2nd striker as Rooney has always done since his time at united, Next season they may even have another player Anderson able to play in that role... The only thing is the top man... I am afraid Smith isn't the best choice for that role cos for a simple fact that he can't get you goals... United have spent quite a sum and they need to get some in return. Letting Smith and Heinze go i guess is correct cos together they could still command a $10m return to the $40+ they have spent... And who knows, they may even get another striker in, one that can score unlike Smith hardworking as he may be but still no end product...
That is why Fergie said its one of the most difficult part to his job... Letting players you like go cos you still have a job to do... I am sure Fergie likes Smith, he has stick with him all along but he still has a job to do and watching Smith these past few months... Its evident that he isn't a great player... let alone a goal scorer... Its sad but thats the way pro football is.Originally posted by Bontakun:Wah liew... after all da commitment Smithy gave, no contract for him. Dat is da reality of MANU management for you.
They can possibly show host a spoof off program called "The football player"! Copied from the "Apprentice".
Train Smith in coaching or management den.Originally posted by zocoss:That is why Fergie said its one of the most difficult part to his job... At 26? Then how about the Solskjaers, the Giggs and the Scholes... Smith is still rather young he could easily still play for another 4 to 6 yrs at the top...Originally posted by Bontakun:Train Smith in coaching or management den.
Train Solskjaer, Giggs and Scholes as well. 1 big happy family.Originally posted by zocoss:At 26? Then how about the Solskjaers, the Giggs and the Scholes... Smith is still rather young he could easily still play for another 4 to 6 yrs at the top...
to be frank, i'd like Roy Keane to replace Fergie as gaffer, and not Queiroz. Keano seems to be doing fanatstically well with Sunderland and should do well as gaffer of United. Asst managers Giggsy and Scholesy perhaps?Originally posted by Bontakun:Train Solskjaer, Giggs and Scholes as well. 1 big happy family.

Its still early days to assess Keano's skill at management... He has so far only done well in the Championship... Something that Steve Bruce, Mark Huges and even Bryan Robson has done with West Brom... No doubt he is doing a great job currently at Sunderland but the real test will be... not just survive but to do well in the EPL next season... Only then can we say he is a good manager.Originally posted by Othello_Red:to be frank, i'd like Roy Keane to replace Fergie as gaffer, and not Queiroz.
