Ole undergoes successful op

  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has undergone successful minor surgery to clear up a knee injury and is expected to be fit for the start of the new season.
  
  Whilst away on international duty with Norway, Solskjaer alerted medical staff to discomfort in his knee.
  
  After consultation with United, it was decided he would be sent for an operation to clear up the problem.
  
  According to Norway's team doctor Thor Einar Anderson, the operation was a success.
  
  "The surgery went fine, but he won't be able to play in the game against Hungary on Wednesday," he said.
  
  "We found what we expected when we looked at his knee. It was a bit swollen and the knee joint was a bit irritated, but we treated it."
  
  It is hoped that the problem has been dealt with and Solskjaer will be able to return to full fitness.
  
  "Hopefully his knee will be better when he resumes his training," added Dr Anderson. "We hope that this is not something that will return again and again, but it's too soon to say."

  I suggest he stop playing and walk away.. at least with his head held high..
  
  if he quits now, at least he still can walk properly and enjoy rest of his life..
  
  I see no point in him still trying to make a comeback...
  
  there is still 2nd half of his life leh..

  hopefully he'll continue his career as a reserve/youth team coach at United !

  Ole, at this point of time of his career at United, can be considered lucky to start a match. Otherwise a place on the bench would be good enough. Maybe he should switch to a coaching job soon.

  i agree, that's what Cantona did wasn't it?
  
  leave when ppl still remember you at your best. but then again, he will always be remembered for the winning goal that brought us the Champs league.
