Keano in £2m bid for Scholes

  ROY KEANE has made a shock £2million bid for Paul Scholes. Sunderland boss Keano is out to make an impact on the Black Cats’ return to the Premiership. And with midfielders Anderson, Nani and Owen Hargreaves on their way to Manchester United, Scholes faces being squeezed out.
  
  Keane will try to tempt his former team-mate into a final challenge before he retires. Scholes, 32, has just enjoyed a stunning season and finished third in the voting for the PFA Player of the Year awards but that has not stopped Keane from testing the resolve of boss Alex Ferguson.
  
  Keane may also move for another old team-mate with Newcastle midfielder Nicky Butt, 32, on his wish-list.

  What do you mean? He's been there whenever possible, and he did very well too.
  
  I don't believe in this news anyway. Roy Keane would know that Paul Scholes would never leave Man Utd. Especially now that his career's ending in another few years.
  
  Also, I don't see this news in a reliable source I go to.

  he's actually been doing a lot of work, just that it goes un-noticed. he's the one picking things up from deep and launching attacks with his passing.
  
  with Carrick in, i always thought that Scholes'd be darting around and Carrick'd be the one passing but both of them have, and Scholes has been more deadly.

  duh.. i dun know .. maybe you;ve being watching the wrong season.. scholes have being very vital in our build up and to our cause for the premiere league title..a very big difference when we had him this season and when we didn't last season..

  Don't think so. He will still be in the first team whenever he's fit so he can break the all time appearance record.

  the 2 players we bot from portugal league are still young n raw...they need time to settle down n mature..hence, scholes n giggs will still be there to stable the ship...

  They might be playing different roles now.
  
  Have you realised that Giggs is being played more in a central role behind the strikers now?
  
  Also, Scholes drops deeper now when collecting the ball off the defence, at times deeper than Carrick even. He's almost operating like Pirlo, a deep-lying playmaker,albeit without much tackling ability to speak of.
  
  The ones who should really be worried should be Richardson and Fletcher. With the arrival of Hargreaves, Fletcher goes even lower on the list, and he can forget about playing on the wings too, with Cristiano, Nani and Park all capable of playing there. He's been impressive, especially in the 7-1 destruction of Roma, but he isn't top-class and he might get frustrated and leave.
  
  As for Richardson, what can i say? If Heinze leaves, the only chance he'll get is as back-up for Evra. Else, if some youngster fills that void, Pique might, and does so ably, RIchardson can pack his bags and go.
