The next day, someone wrote it to say, "Despite the points raised in the report, (Why banning tuition will only make things worse; May 10) I think tuition should be banned."
That silly letter was rightfully ignored by the public. Then, someone else wrote it to the Straits Times to suggest instead, "Extend school hours instead of banning tuition".

Our education system has very little to do with education, let alone actually preparing anybody for adulthood. Assuming someone doesn't get vocational training, the difference between a person that graduates at the top of the class or barely scraping by is nothing.
