As it is a Straits Times premium article, you have to be a subscriber to read the original article on the ST website. However, someone reproduced the text of the article here :

The next day, someone wrote it to say, "Despite the points raised in the report, (Why banning tuition will only make things worse; May 10) I think tuition should be banned."
That silly letter was rightfully ignored by the public. Then, someone else wrote it to the Straits Times to suggest instead, "Extend school hours instead of banning tuition".
Mothership covers the social media response to this guy's suggestion, which while not quite as silly as the previous guy's, but still.

Our education system has very little to do with education, let alone actually preparing anybody for adulthood. Assuming someone doesn't get vocational training, the difference between a person that graduates at the top of the class or barely scraping by is nothing. Our country does nothing to differentiate the two extremes in the job market
Class size and tuition will be ever present so employing technology to tech every student is advantageous, I'd imagine so you have to look forward as well as backwards, what needs to be improved and how... -
