Its 26 and i have no idea how to continue my studies.
Please help me.
Can go Poly, but English have to repeat this year.
Can consider Engineering or Bio-Chem courses, or Media and Design courses.
Depending on what's your interest.
Do you want to be an Engineer, a Doctor, a Designer or a Media crew?

Still can go Poly.
If your sciences and humanities is good (B4 or better), can consider Common Engineering in Poly (or diploma in EEE), then based on your Poly first year results, enroll into a engineering diploma course from Poly second year.
Of course, just the act of retaking O levels is by itself no guarantee that your results will improve, it's up to your own determination and perseverance. If you don't have the determination and perseverance to ensure that your results will improve across all subjects, then don't bother retaking.
Originally posted by UltimaOnline:Apart from the conditional JC/Poly admissions involving O level English, the point of retaking O levels is to improve on all your scores, thereby giving you more options (both JC and Poly) upon scoring better results on the retake.

Maths also can re-take in first year of JC/Poly.

Innova not bad. Even top scorers also choose Innova.
and since you live in Woodlands, might as well you choose Innova.
Hello gekpohboy,
I saw Innova's Science stream prerequsites, and it states that Combined Science students can only take ONE H2 Science, and the other only at H1 level. I want to take 2 H2 Sciences, so I think Innova's out of the question for me. T_T
Thank you for your advice though.
Originally posted by eagle:Although cut off for Innova is 20 pts for 2016, I personally find Innova quite ok. You may (or may not) likely be a bigger fish in a smaller pond, so must be able to handle that.
Personal opinion also, I don't really like YJ, from how I observe my students. But that's me. The school probably thinks they are doing a lot of value add.
PJ is okok, has been improving. CJ has improved tremendously since my times.
Could also consider SR. Like CJ, they have improved tremendously as well.
My take is you should travel and visit the JCs to find which one feels better for you in terms of the criteria you have set, as well as any other criteria which you may not think of now.
Thank you for your advice. I will visit as many of the JCs' open houses as I can starting from tomorrow. :)
Not well-versed in JC stuff, but here's some points I know:
- The whole purpose is to get a good Uni-score and qualify for the University.
- Ultimately, you are competing with the top-notch JCs.
- All subject combinations are designed for University.
Actually if let say SRJC abt 15-16 pts this year , can transfer midtern?

No such thing.
Unless, it's a really exceptional case, decided by the ministry. Rarely happen. Never in year one. So, don't even think about it.
gekpohboy where you teach ah later apply there kachao you

im interested in nursing course in Ngee Ann poly, however I only met the elr2b2 requirement but not the minimum subject requirements as I failed bio
I didn't study hard for o levels
i wish to pursue medicine in uni
may I know do I stand a good chance to get in if I place Ngee Ann poly nursing as first choice? Or is it affected by my bio
Seriously, I am quite surprised why your school allowed such a subject combination. Secondary schools offer subject combinations that will best ensure that their students are able to enter JC/Poly and qualify for most if not all of the courses. Therefore, as a minimum, all students take at least one combined Science subject (P/C/B). In your case, you would have been better off with Combined Science (C/B) instead of pure bio.
Anyway, that is water under the bridge.
If you die die want to do medicine, then another path is to go Poly. Do extremely well. Take a science or engineering course in Uni. Make sure you graduate with 1st class honours. Then apply to Duke-NUS graduate medical school after some work experience related to research.
But be warned. Medicine is a tough life.
Hi. My results are as follows,
English - B4
Chinese - A2
Mathematics - A2
Physics - B4
Chemistry - C6
Combined Humanities - D7
L1R5 = 25
L1R4 = 18
Thinking of pursuing Engineering diploma at Polytechnic, since my Physics better than my Chemistry.
Or is it better that I pursue Business diploma?
Would like to hear your opinion.
Is it possible to take Science stream in JC if i only have one pure science in O levels.

Take a look at the ELR2B2 cut off points here for business courses.

should i go to temasek jc or meridian jc? which do you think is better? i also have other commitments outside sch but both do not allow external ccas.
Hi! I have received my O Level results yesterday and disappointingly only passed English (B3). I would like to retake O levels but I'm in a sticky situation right now as I have moved out of country and my parents are unable to finance a place for me to stay. So I'm left with 2 options for my future.
1): Enlist early in National Service and retake O Levels at the same time. Is this feasible from anyone's experience? Are there vocations that allow enough free time to study? Would I be able to book out to study? Is there such thing as night classes for O levels?
2): Start from scratch and study the IGCSE syllabus (also from cambridge) from a Sec 3 level in a private school in my current country. The downside to this is that I will waste 2 years of my life and graduate from uni (given in the future i might apply to poly via DAE) at age 28 (I'm 17 turning 18). Is this more feasible for the long term however since its more stable and structured than the unpredictable NS?

Thanks for the recommendation. I would like to know, are all the Business diplomas accepted by NUS, NTU, SMU?

If your combined science did well (ie. A1 or A2 grade), then yes you can still take the combined science subjects at H2 level, ie. Science stream. Go check out individual JC's websites to confirm details. YJC and MI are known to be slightly more flexible in terms of subject combination (especially YJC) and/or O level prerequisite grades for the corresponding subject (especially MI).
Do NOT choose MI.
If cannot take a certain science combination in JC, then forget it.
If you go MI just to take that particular science combination, you are just lowering the bell curve for top JC students.
That's why MI's science and arts cannot make it, especially science.
Business still can, as the marks is only for MI and the private institutions.

Business diploma better, or A level business better, to qualify for the University?

A level, especially if you want to read business at NUS or NTU.
