Good for her. Adventurous, courageous and (most critically) fortunate. But as we say in Chinese, we're not afraid of 1 thousand, we're just afraid of 1 out of 1 thousand. Better safe than sorry. It's still manifestly unwise for females to travel alone overseas (ideally travel in small groups, with at least 1 trustworthy male friend), especially in high risk countries (it's a continuum of course, with Singapore being the safest country in the world for a lone female to travel in).

Animals have souls too (with the degree of individuality, permanence and development concordant to the species they incarnate into), and they reincarnate as well. Evolution is not just genetic and biological, but souls evolve spiritually across lifetimes as well. Yes, this includes both humans and animals, and in fact across all Kingdoms. What's more, as animal souls evolve (domesticated animals with emotionally positive human contact have greater opportunities to accelerate the development of specific qualities of their souls that qualify them to join humanity), many eventually evolve into human souls and begin experiencing human incarnations.

Does Malaysia belong to Malaysians, or only Malays?
In the minds of the majority of Malaysian Malays, the answer is unfortunately the racist one. Unlike Singapore, where every Singaporean agrees that Singapore belongs to Singaporeans (and not one particular race), in contrast, the majority of Malaysian Malays choose to imagine that Malaysia belongs only to the Malays, that only Malays are the true Malaysians, and that the other races, the Chinese and Indians, are invaders and the 'bad guys'.
The over-identification with genetic race and the physical body, is indicative of the level of spiritual evolution of the souls who hold such an unethical view, and allowing oneself to hold such an unethical view and to cause harm (directly through one's interactions, and indirectly by passively supporting the unethical racist policies of Malaysian government) to the other races, is also (ala chicken & egg) limiting the personal spiritual evolution of these people.
As with the whites versus blacks racism that America has lived through (and for a minority of Americans, continue to struggle with), Malaysian Malays who are racist will incur such karma, and will have to be reincarnated into future lifetimes where they are the victims of the same racist hatred that they inflicted upon others in this lifetime.

Unfortunately, another case of maid abuse here in Singapore (in this case, a Singaporean Malay couple using a hammer on repeated occasion to strike their Indonesian Muslim domestic maid on her head (she skull almost cracked each time, which could have been fatal), to knock out a few of her teeth, and to break her fingers).
If you're a respectful person, you'll respect others, regardless of their socio-economic standing. A person who treats others differently based on their socio-economic standing, is a bigot.

In an unrelated case, a Singaporean mother is shocked to find her employed Indonesian maid breastfeeding her (the Singaporean employer's) baby daughter. Everyone should be made aware that breastfeeding may transmit diseases such as AIDS to the breastfeeding baby.

Singaporeans like those callous drivers (especially those who stopped just to take photos with their phones before driving off) who drove past without offering assistance, are a disgrace to Singapore.
