2. What to wear for orientation? (I am most prob going to YJC and according to their site, have to wear Sec school pe shirt and pants / skirt but i am not from a secondary school last year. I graduated sec school in 2014 so can just wear home clothes? Or is it a must to wear school U)
3. Will we be sorted into classes the first day already or everybody is mixed up together?
Thanks :))

You have to retake English as a private candidate i guess because you need at least a C6 to get into JC. For poly, you can still go to your course while you retake english that year and make sure you pass it but i am not sure if you can do the same for JC, ask MOE or the principal :P
But what if i appeal ? Good to appeal?

If you're not eligible to JC, i don't think you can appeal cos there will be people with pass in english and maybe even appeal with CCA so priority will go to them and i heard that very few people get through appeal (check previous posts) Usually appeal is appeal with CCA and they are those people who have the same cut off point or lower already

Yup I don't have school shoes already and like they said sports shoes is what JC people mostly wear :P you going to YJC?
pls ignore the troll
There are a lot of IBs (Internet Brigades) in this homework forum, especially this thread. So many fake people who pretend to be parents and students. Some advertising attempts are obvious.
I hope everyone is smart to know what is real and what is fake. Not everything here is real.
Fireice, feel free to delete the truth, by editing my post. :)
Really, who uses this thread to make decisions anyway? When I took my O levels and when I got my results, I did not refer to this forum, or any forum. I only refer to school websites... :|

most likely.
Hello! I am about to enter jc and can't decide on what subject levels I should take. I got 8A1s for O levels and currently aiming for Medicine in NUS (if possible). I am going to take H2 maths bio chem but still unsure whether to take H2 or H1 econs. Assuming that I am not aiming for scholarships, is it still more advantageous to take 4H2s/another H3 for admission into medicine?
On the other hand,if I am aiming for scholarship, would it be better to take 4H2s or another H3?
What other preparations should I do in order to increase my chances of getting accepted into medicine?
H3 not a requirement
do well in all the H2s
on top of that, there's the interview............

Thank you so much for helping!! Just go confirm,if I just take 3H2s, and managed to get As for all subjects, would I still be at an disadvantage to get into medicine? Because my english is not a subject I am confident in. And I have heard that econs require you to write a lot of essays and that it is not a subject that is easy to score in.

Hi Janice,
Try to take 4H2s. You can handle it. Many of the medicine applicants have 4H2 + 1H3 distinctions. So the competition is real keen. You need to do lots of medical volunteer work in and out of JC, I think. Plus, once you get into medicine, your family has to support you for 5 years of expensive uni education.
So all the best!!
