TYS TYS TYS TYS TYS TYS
Agree. Do TYS twice. The yearly ones and not the topical ones. Time yourself. Aim to finish all the question in 60% of the time, and use the remaining 40% to check through.
i think do past year prelim papers more useful though, especially papers from better schools, if able to get them cos some papers may have tougher questions so maybe can help you be more better prepared for tougher questions in Os
some ppl do top sch exam papers liao more demoralised
Spend a few days review all the concepts and points to note when solving the questions. Having concept will help you remember the formulae and steps better.
After which practice through the mathematical simplifications, like solving using partial fractions, butterfly method, general quadratic formula, complete square.
Then do TYS. Do that time if you hesitate of do wrong, use pencil to circle the part where u encounter difficulty, learn how to overcome it, maybe concept not strong or maths not strong.
Don't forget, u got many other subjects. The moment before u sleep don't think of pretty girls or girlfriend, think of the concepts and wad u did to solve the problem. Think of the parts where u encounter difficulty in solving.
If you dream about it, it will be even better. Next day u will remember very clearly.
Used to give tuition. Don't like my kids to do prelims to prepare for O levels because prelim questions is heavily dependent on which teacher set the questions. You need to get used to the way O level sets questions, and how to answer them to the point. O level is not difficult, it's a matter of doing it quick and accurately. Aim to finish the paper in 50% of the time and REDO it again in the nxt 50% of the time to get a very good grade.
Thanks! What about physics? i am aiming a A2 for physics at least.
Also lets say if i scored C6 for el last year and i score worst than a C6 this year will my 2014 C6 appear on my O level cert this January or my 2015 worst El grade appear?
the cert u will receive in 2016 will reflect the score for the one u taken in 2015
Then how do i combine my cert to apply Jae?
so stress haha
Alright thanks! it also applies to school candidate right? as i retain in school.
Tmr is my math paper1.
i finished all my tys paper 1 already and currently doing paper 2s.
i scored average 60/80 per paper but i am still worried
I heard i should not be doing any maths the night before a paper is that true? Or anyone have any other tips.
Thanks!
What grade u aiming for? If you want b3/b4 then 60/80 is sufficient but then if u want score A1 tbh u need abt 72-76 and above ( for me i take a1 as 95 and above). What i would do for now is just revise the formulas( u dont want to forget the formulas in exams right? Then at night just rest and chill.
A1 for maths is definitely more than the "standard" 75

Thanks for replying.
i am aiming a B4 at least but now i am worried as i failed my maths last year even though my test and tys practice has been consistent at C6/C5 this year compared to last year F9.
I might go and redo 2014 paper 1 and see how it goes.
Btw do anyone know that money is round off to 2.d.p or 3.s.f?
money 2 d.p
To get A1 for O level E Math, my teacher say must get at least 90+ to secure A1. However, as long as every question do consistently accurate and fast, then shouldn't be a problem, because from TYS, there are no really difficult questions in the past 3 years for both Paper 1 and 2.
I would rather start working on a more difficult and important subject like English now, since the EL paper is the day right after the first E Math paper... just saying.
Hows the paper guys? I minus 3-5 marks :(
Counted the marks already..
i count those i got correct answer.. Never count method marks etc.
got 62/100 for overall..
worried bell curve pull me to a D7..
The bell curve wouldnt possibly get you to a D7. Moreover u got 62/100 without counting your method marks which I would definitely say 62/100 is your worst case scenario. At this points there isn't much you can do just focus on the rest of your subjects
haha i think will pull me to a C5.. i heard they will try and make u pass..
I recounted and its at 61/100.. Hope method marks add some up and maintain B4
heard from where?
