I heard that minimum requirement to enter local uni from poly is 3.8 gpa is that true? and another question is even If I get 3.8 gpa but O lvl only 21 point will I have to retake my O lvl to enter into a local university because from what I know O lvl result will be taken in as consideration by the local uni I think its 80% gpa and 20% O lvl result.
Minimum GPA Requirements to enter local university varies from course to course. You have to look at the latest IGP table available from the university's website. From there you can find the cut off grade.

As for O levels, it is hard to say. I have friends who didn't score too well for O levels, went to ITE, poly, then finally NTU. However they went for interview in NTU as their GPA isn't very high.
What course do you have in mind?
I was accepted into NTU B.Eng EEE program in 2012, with GPA of 3.6, O levels 18. Lowest cut off for that year was 3.4x if im right.
I think it does depends on the course you want to take. GPA 3.6, O levels 8. I got into Mathematical Sciences in NTU after a placement test (AY14/15). It also depends on how relevant your course in poly is to the course you want to take in uni. Mine was totally irrelevant so I think that didn't help. Lol.
Don't think too much. Just try your best for poly (if you are still in poly?) and apply for uni when it's time. It depends on how good your batch is. If your competition is good, your chances are slim. But try next year, you might get in (because your competition isn't so good). So it's really hard to say.
Good luck anyway!
Hi, i have search that a minimum requirement to enter SMU university for business management is to have a GPA of 3.72 for their grade profile but is it true that that might only accept 3.8 and above?
I am currently in the beginning of year 2 in poly now and have a GPA of 3.69 hence i was wondering if i could get in if i have a GPA of 3.75 by the end of 3 years and o levels L1R5 at 16 and L1R4 at 13 because i heard that it is hard to enter a university through polytechnic!
Thank you!
