Hope I can go NUS.
Hey guys. I received a letter from NUS dated 25th February. It seems to be an invitation to apply for its undergraduate programmes, attaching a pin in which i am to use when applying for courses. I am curious to know the following:

- Did anyone recieve the same letter?
- Has anyone received it in the past?
- Do all unis already know our A level results?
I am merely clarifying and i hope i recieve relevant answers. To all A level candidates collecting your results in 4 days time, i wish everyone all the best! :)
1. All school candidates will receive the PIN
2. I got a place in NUS and will be matriculating this year (if all goes well), the letter will come first, which allows you to apply using the pre-filled form (which minimize the need to fill in personal info like name, NRIC as well as results, which does not need to be verified (no supporting info needed)). The PIN is also handy as you don't need to think of a new PIN when you apply. This PIN will be the one you apply for financial assistance and like a password to the NUS admission portal.
3. NUS should know on the day. NTU I'm not sure the proceedure, as my offer is under early admission.
Jiayou also =)
so encouraging
Hi guys... I got bcd/e for a levels... can I apply for nus science? i am just unsure of my chances...

My UAS is 65. Possibly the worst score to have.
My current thoughts are as follows and I have several questions.
1. Go overseas university - do a foundation or diploma pathway course.
- Expensive. I am the only child and my parents are ardent savers, but I feel extreme guilt in asking them to pay for my education.
*Do local banks offer loans for overseas university fees?
+ End product of a degree is still achievable
2. Go NYP Healthcare course,
+ Healthcare, a field I don't mind. However, I am not sure if I'm the kind of 'caring' person a physiotherapist should be.
+ One year degree conversion course available
- Not exactly my passion. I am not sure if I can see myself doing this for the rest of my life.
3. Go poly to do 3 year diploma
+ What I had originally wanted to do right after 'O' levels.
- I think I missed the application dateline (Missed JAE?)
* Is there an alternate intake for A level grads?
4. Try for NTU Art, Design and Media
+ Design is definitely something I am into. My CCA in secondary school was very relevant to what they do.
- I do not have a portfolio. But I do have strong leadership + CCA records.
Private universities are not within my options. I just don't believe in them. They cost too much but they aren't as recoginized as a degree from a local university. I don't think it's worth the investment. Neither is repeating A levels. It was my mistake in allowing my parents to control my decisions back then.
Any advice from people who've been in a similar place?
I jux got bac alvl results.

Can i get to nus chem eng? And will my gp grade nt allow me to get in?
Thx
Hi tbb, can try for nus chem engine. But competition is stiff.
You may also consider other choices.
Hi I also received my result and was fking disappointed.
GP:E
H2 Mathematics: A
H2Physcis: A
H2 Chemistry:A
Econ: B
PW:B
HTML: A
My rank point is 83.75
I also targetting Chem Engineering either NUS or NTU my second choice will be NTU Business. Sigh very difficult right. Please advice
Hi guys! I just got back my results too! I'm a music person so I alr applied for NAFA but I wouldn't really want to get in. Because there's no future in music in sg (I will never want to be a music teacher private or school) or overseas (bo lui ar)
GP: D ()
H2 Maths: B
H2 Econs: C
H2 Geography D
H1 Chem: C
PW and Chinese: B
I want to do SMU social sciences but their cut off is 72.5 rank points, BBC/C if I'm not wrong, but mine is only 67.5. I want to study for Human Resource Management. What are other courses that are related to HR in the other unis?
I feel really really bad right now because I really did study very hard and did lots of practice and consultations and revision... And I have been getting mediocre results ever since primary school. This is my worst yet.

Hi! Does anyone know if our citizenship status will affect our chances of getting into a course? And also, I got As for my 4H2s (BCME) and E for my gp, A for pw. Do I still stand a chance for NUS pharmacy?? >< Thanks!!

Hey there. My results are satisfactory. AAB/CBA and my ranking point stands at 83 ish. I have a good CCA record (leadership) as i was President of the student body and was thinking of applying for YALE NUS. Can anyone advise? :)
Hi everyone! I jsut got back my results and they were pretty bad...
GP:A
H2 Bio:C
H2 Math:C
H2 Chem:S
H1 Econs:D
Right now, I'm thinking of retaking my A's cause I really want to study in the UK.I was wondering whether I could skip retaking GP since I got an A for it (I checked out the unis and most require 3 H2s and they never state anything about GP) and whether I should change my subject combinations. As you can see, my chemistry is the worst.I never liked chemistry, not even in secondary school.I was actually thinking of swapping it with english language and linguistics since I have a strong command in english but I quite wary though cause I would only have a few months do study the subject.I was also thinking of swapping econs with history since I want to study history in university.Currently I'm thinking of going to MDIS.Is it good? Are there better ones? I would really appreciate any advice cause I'm quite indecisive right now...

Hi, based on IGP (AAA/A and assumed GP and PW = C) you stand a chance but based on past few years trend it seems that GP and PW is tilted to a B&C kind of cut off.
For citizenship, for foreigners there's a quota that NUS can take in, 10% = 21 spaces, hence, competition may be keener
But still put it as 1st choice and have good alternatives too!
