Hey there, is anyone from Nanyang Poly? Im thinking of dropping out of j2 to do social work there. Have heard its pretty slack but its the only poly offering this course. Also, do you think its foolish for someone with an L1R4 of 6 to go into a 15 point course? My parents and peers all disapprove but ive read the course structure and it seems pretty interesting, i also like helping others and volunteering too so.... Oh yeah i really want to get into a local uni and get a degree. Not necessarily in social work though
You have to enquire whether it is easy to switch to other faculties in NUS/NTU/SMU if you enter social work in poly, or you have to stick to social work.
Are you wanting to enter social work in poly cos it is slack and interesting?
Do you have the interest to becoming a social worker?
Do you still like your JC environment?
JC is the more direct route for entering uni. Only 20% of poly grads who take 3 years to complete the diploma, can enter local uni.
The issue about L1R4 is not that important. You could be the most outstanding student in social work if you work hard.
Poly environment is also quite hectic, from what I have heard.
Do consider carefully.
